April 2010

At last! After a horrid winter I have been able to fix the fuel pipe and cure the fuel leak.

Quite easy to do in the end.

Removed the plastic cover for the air filter box, this exposed the end of the pipe that screws into the fuel filter.

Opened the clip that secures the fuel lines in place (just need to close it again). Measured and made a mark on the pipe ready for cutting.

Removed the pipe at the fuel filter end - careful, a bit of petrol will run out.

Using a small plumbers pipe cutter, cut away a section of pipe - this leaves a nice even round finish ready for fitting the compression joint.

Fitted the new pipe and two new washers at the fuel filter end. Replaced the air box cover.
